GROWTH THROUGH CONCENTRATION

Concetration

Somebody once said that if you don’t know where you’re going then you have arrived, because where you are could be where you’re going.
To concentrate is to be focused, to pay attention, to be glued to a particularly goal or thing. God has released everything that we need to grow this year, but as much as He did so, you must know the catalyst that brings rapid growth. I will like us to learn about one namely concentration. As described above concentration is being glued to one thing
Philippians 3:13-15New King James Version (NKJV)
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
In this scripture Paul makes it clear that he had a mind of “not yet arrived” why? This mind will push you to achieve what is ahead of you because there is always something better from where you are. You must learn to move from ordinary to the extra ordinary, being focused and putting all your focus on “one thing”. Paul made it clear to us that this “one thing” he did by meaning there is one thing that he put all his energies on focusing on what bright him on earth.
Friends every great achiever on earth has used this to propel him forward and achieve what he was born to do. Our prime and best example of somebody who concentrated till the end was our lord Jesus Christ; he came for the cross and nothing but death on a cross. Even when the Jews wanted to make him king he wasn’t so fascinated that he abandoned his mission to be made king no!! He stuck his ground
This is a powerful force, if used to the fullest will push you to achieve much and succeed. So why concentrate?
1. Every great human achievement is a product of concentration
Do you remember Thomas Edison? The light bulb inventor, it is said he failed over 900 times before he finally succeed ,what manner of concentration is that? How many of us can do the same thing over and over trying to get it to work? Did you know that nothing works in a short while, it takes you doing that very thing over and over until it works. if it’s a business you must keep working at it till it works. Stop changing your vocation every month nothing will work if you don’t concentrate on it.
2. Every military conquest is won by concentration on one objective target
If you concentrate your efforts and energies’ you will win over your enemies, it took total concentration from all forces fighting in the world war to bring down Germany under Hitler. The great Gaddafi was finally ousted by forces that totally concentrated in bringing him down.
3. Every great ministry accomplishes much for God out of concentration on one thing.
Majority of churches don’t achieve much for God due to the lack of one clear vision from the leadership. Di-vision means having much smaller visions under the main vision this creates division. Do you want to achieve much for the kingdom of God as a ministry focus on one thing concentrate on the vision of your lead pastor, support it and see it grow?

4. It will make people work faster.
People who focus and concentrate on one matter work faster, concentration makes the work easy and speedy. A beam of concentrated ray of light can cut though a steel metal that is the power of concentrated focus at doing one thing at a time.
5. The faster you work the more energy and interest you have.
Remember the project you started and never finished, it was because you did not pay close attention to be able to concentrate .Nehemiah was able to build the wall of Jerusalem and finish the work on time because they all concentrated on rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem. Out of that, all families involved had a peculiar and zealous interest to completing the work.
The slower you work the more interest you loss in the particular project you are undertaking, lack of focus reduces interest.
6. The more delays and suspensions to project the more discouraged people become.
This is purely the sin of procrastination, learn to do things now JUST DO IT NOW, for maximum results you must learn to act on time and drive the projects to the end, before discouragement trickles in.

Proverbs 13:12New King James Version (NKJV)
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.
It is better to try and sink trying than to live and never know you would have walked on water do that project, assignment, task now
7. Concentration depends solely on your ability to distinguish between relevant and irrelevant matters.
Most important matters are not urgent in nature, where else urgent maters create pressure in us that makes us think they are important. Pressure should never rule over us but we must learn to distinguish urgent from important.
The greatest thief of concentration is the cellphone; smartphones have become both a blessing and a distraction, if this year you’re to see growth you must learn to break free from this monster of distraction called cell phone. Learn to concentrate by keeping your phone aside at times.
8. Inject urgency on all your projects.
Any time you have a project plan next to it have a time frame of completion anytime you set a goal with a completion date your mind begins to race to make sure you complete it. It eliminates unnecessary distraction and concentrates on completing the project.
9. Concentration keeps everyone from backbiting, jealousy, envy and strive.
Empty containers make the most noise, people with nothing to concentrate on will always have a problem with people making moves and moving masses. Haters have never been above you, they are always below you.
10. Useless socialization and television are killers of concentration.
There are three types of friends:
1. Those you waste time with.
Nothing good comes from them
2. Those you Spend time with:
Nothing good neither bad comes from them you just enjoy hangout together.
3. Those you Invest time with
When you meet with them you learn a lot you leave energized and changed
Those are the kind of friends we need
Concentrate on building good relationships that will change your life.
